Substitute Teacher Service, (STS) has immediate openings for PCA and Para Educator positions in the Hatboro Horsham School District.

Special Education aide positions will provide group (classroom aide) and individual (classroom aide or 1:1 assistant) assistance with student academic and behavioral performance; direct student assistance with class work, homework, testing and communication. Personal Care positions will require assistance with monitoring of medical conditions, physical needs, personal care, feeding, exposure to bodily fluids and/or toileting. Applicants must have and be able to perform the following for Special Education positions:

 

• Provide individual and/or small group support to implement specific academic, behavioral, and/or physical accommodations as outlined in the IEP or Section 504 Plan,
• Provide assistance in the development and preparation of instructional materials and adaptive strategies,
• Support inclusion, socialization and independence within the school setting,
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and information,
• Collect and maintain data as required by the student plan for medical assistance logs, daily communication logs, and anecdotal records,
• 1:1/PCA- provide intensive program level support to a student or students in specialized classes: Life Skills, Emotional Support, and Autistic Support.
• PCA - provide direct student assistance with monitoring of a medical condition, physical needs, personal care, feeding, and/or toileting (possible exposure to bodily fluids)


The position descriptions do not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by an aide in this position. Aide will be required to complete other job-related duties requested by their supervisor. In addition, it is requested that all full time positions are committed to this position for the entire/remainder of the school year. If this is not possible, we ask the aides to provide the school with ample notice if they are not able to complete the school year with their classroom/student. 

 

 

 

Required Background and Health Documents:
   • Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) must be within 1 year
   • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) must be within 1 year
   • FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114) must be within 1 year
   • Proof of a TB test within 3 months

Education Level and References:
• High School Diploma or GED in addition to 1 of the following:
        • Completed at least 2 years of study (defined as a minimum of 48 credit hours) at an institution of higher education; or
        • Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree;
• Resume and 3 references: Up to date resume, in addition to 1 of the following:
        • 3 names and numbers of professional references, STS will need to verify at least 2 references; OR
        • 3 letters of reference, STS will contact one of the references for verification

Required Training:
(not required to apply, but required to obtain before placement is possible)
     • First Aid and CPR (provided by STS)
     • Behavioral Training through STS Academy (provided by STS)

 

At your intake appointment, we will take a photo of you for an ID badge. Please dress appropriately.

 ** If you have already completed Act 126 training, please bring proof of completion. If you need training, STS will be notifying you of how to get it.
